sinceseventyseven - I picked mine up at a thrift store for $30 and was so glad that it was in working condition! Its a 328K, and I love it. Its very loud when I get it going, but it doesn’t bother me. I darned my denim with it, and it held up…just broke the needle, lol. It seems like it will last! That’s the main reason I was looking for an older machine. Newer machines just don’t seem as dependable.

Just took a hoodie that I’ve had since I was a teenager and made it much cooler. Learning to sew is fun!!

…I also darned the crotch of my niece’s fuzzy pajama pants. Practice makes perfect, right?

masculinewardrobe said: long time follower and fan, any ideas on how to stitch up holes in denim, crotch area etc... I'm not doing the best job lol.

Hi, thanks for following!! Honestly, I was so scared to try doing it myself. The first crotch blowout I had in these, I sent them in and they did a beautiful job. I just started learning to sew, and I basically watched a tutorial on youtube on darning and took notes. I used a little patch on the inside just to feel a little safer, but you don’t really need to. So I just set the patch on the inside and started stitching the opposite direction of the tear, pushing it over a little each time until I covered it. Just make sure to go a little further than the tear to reinforce a little bit. Also, make sure to trim the extra thread so it doesn’t get caught while you’re stitching. It recommended using a thicker thread, but I just used regular thread with the thickest stitch.

I hope some of this makes sense…I’m not a professional at all, just trying to get there some day :)

Thanks for the message!
