I’ve been intrigued by the idea of wearing a uniform for a long time now. I love the idea of having a diverse, simple set up that takes is timeless. I also want to avoid any particular trend, at least in a general way.
I know my raw denim, cuffed as they are, may certainly be “trendy” but although the particulars of jeans may change, a dark pair of jeans have pretty much always been in style.I’ve decided this uniform for me will be a Brooks Brothers extra slim OCBD, almost always blue, and a pair of Tellason jeans. I’ve been playing at it for a while, but this week I’m going to commit. So here’s day one, the basic kit. I think I can add sport coats, sweaters, and even just tuck or untuck to mix up the look to keep from getting too boring. The shoes here are Allen Edmonds and the belt is Tanner Goods.I won’t keep these posts up for longer than a week or so, but I thought it might keep me committed to the experiment if I post pictures of the different looks,

These are my original raws. Tellason, 14.75 ounce John Graham Mellor Slim Straight. I put the lighter weight ones away since it’s getting colder and forgot how rad these are.
I wore them for about 2 months and then washed them because they smelled so bad no one would sit next to me.I guess there’s more indigo in these because the fades have more contrast. I’ll live in these until it starts to heat up again.
So these aren’t great pictures, but here’s a progression on my raw denim. I’m about 5 weeks in of almost daily wear. The fades are coming in bright blue and I guess they’ll eventually go to white.
Still no washes (you can see a stain on my pocket) or soaks.
I got myself a new pair of Tellason jeans today. I went for the Ladbroke Grove style this time. I got them a size smaller than my last pair since they did stretch a bit. I’m really digging these.
Brand new Tellason John Graham Mellors tapered to a 7” leg opening, knee down. I’m digging that fat selvedge from the taper.
